Indians posted massive 642 runs on the 2nd Day of Kanpur test match. Indian line up saw 3 batters scoring centuries – Dravid, Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag. VVS Lakshman and Yuvraj Singh too posted their half centuries on a yet again batsmen friendly track. Sri Lankans were given 24 overs before the day’s play was over. They made 66 runs after the loss of 1 wicket in the form of T Dilshan who was held out by Ojha of Zaheer Kahn’s bowling. It would be an uphill task for Sri Lankans on Day 3 to avoid follow on. They need to make at least 442 runs in order to avoid follow-on with 9 wickets in hand. |

As per former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly, Amit Mishra should be retained in the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka. The second ODI begins on November 24th in Kanpur. Both the teams arrived in Kanpur well in advance. Amit Mishra gave 203 runs in his 58 overs in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. His bowling looked out of touch. He failed to draw any Sri Lankan batsmen to play on the rise. However, much could be criticized on the kind of pitch the grounds men prepared for the first clash. According to some cricketing experts such tracks could torment test cricket. |
